Much credit for its part in the great development which has recently taken place in the Euclid Village district is given The McNutt-McCall Co., in an item which appeared recently in the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

This company has also been very active in the promotion of Willoughby as a desirable place in which to live. Through the development of its allotment here and the company's sales campaign in the disposal of its lots, many desirable people have been attracted to Willoughby, many of them will soon begin the erection of new homes, thus increasing the population and the tax duplicate of Willoughby. The item follows:

The McNutt-McCall Co. report a good sale of lots in Euclid village. Plans also have been made for the construction of 30 or more new homes to be started immediately. Some of these are being built by contractors and a number by homeowners.

Within the last year Euclid village has issued and sold approximately $1,000,000 in improvement bonds; $450,000 for two new school buildings, one for Berwick and the other at the other at the corner of St. Clair avenue and Babbitt road, adjoining the allotment of The McNutt-McCall Co. Both buildings are to be thoroughly modern and are to be surrounded by large playgrounds. The remaining bonds have been sold for the construction of sewer and water mains.

Several large factories also have been constructed in Euclid village in the last year. The Lennox Chemical Co. the Anchor Post Co., the Craig Tractor Co. and the Glass Coating Co. being among them. Additions also have [been] made to the Austin Co., the Steel Car Co., and the Cleveland Copper and Brass Co., The Cleveland Tractor Co., and the Cleveland Milling Co., both at the edge of the village, also have made large extensions.

The tax duplicate of the village has increased more than $3,000,000* in a year.

The McNutt-McCall Co. has been the most extensive operator in the vicinity, having sold out two entire subdivisions and is getting along on its third, in addition to the large acreage sold for the construction of manufacturing plants.

*Adjusted for inflation, $3,000,000.00 in 1919 is equal to $45,678,727.27 in 2019.
