Possible Anchor?

Since Outlets USA closed, there has been a sign on the doors, saying something to the effect of 'the reason we closed is to make room for a major department store in this space'.

I don't know. Could be more of a pipe dream than anything else, but imagine if it was true.

Also, for those of you who can't stay away from LiveJournal (me me me), I set up an RSS feed so you can view this blog through your friends page.

  1. Great idea!

    We live(d) in Euclid five years(Our house is for sale if anyone is interested) and keep waiting for Gen Y to discover the affordability of houses on the lake....and, in some ways, the lake itself. That's the only thing that will help the city redefine itself.

    We're only leaving Euclid to care for an elderly relative, but otherwise we'd stay. Beach Club Bistro, Beachland Ballroom, Grovewood Tavern...all so close.

  2. Any chance you know of a source now about Outlets USA closing?

  3. Marisa;

    I'm not quite sure what you mean by a source. I know it started off with about 500 vendors and when it closed was down to less than 10.

  4. The sad part is I remember living in Euclid from 1985 through 1989. When I went to Euclid Square Mall the place was always packed.

    I think 1989 was really the year that I first started to see a serious decline. They were remodelling and changing the layout of the stores, and several of the owners commented to me that they were not certain if they would survive because they were losing so much traffic and incurring expenses moving.

    I had to move for my job, but I did manage to make it back to Euclid Square Mall a couple of times. It was very, very sad to see how far it fell. I hope that it can be resurrected someday, but I suspect that redevelopment may be in its future instead.

  5. I left Euclid and came back just recently. It's not so bad.
