January 1950: Architectural Sketch of the Shore Branch Cuyahoga Library

The Cuyahoga county property website has a date built of 1957 which must be wrong. The Lake Shore Branch of the Cuyahoga county library was up and running by February 1954, at least, when they hosted a Bricker amendment discussion.

The librarian at 264 East 222nd Street library was Adria Humphreys from 1955 (though probably earlier) through 1960. In November 1960 Peter Thompson was named librarian.

Summer 1961 brought plans that included moving the county library at 264 E. 222 St. to a location under construction at Euclid avenue and East 260th street.

The building still stands on 222nd today, and is owned by Shore Haven Lutheran Church. I wonder if they have any old photos or neat ghosts of the library.
