Frightening Friday: Euclid Halloween Ads 1970 + Double Euclid Trick or Treat

3 new tingly terrifying vintage Euclid Halloween advertisements. This year: 1970!

A Spudnut Shop in Euclid. 22473 Shore Center Drive. Is it related to the Spudnuts in Mentor? Why did they leave? Why are their donuts so good?

Ruth Maree's Gift Hut at 22468 Shore Center Drive sold all kinds of Halloween party goodies.

Union commerce bank (now at East 276th and Euclid - a Huntington ATM and 5249 Wilson Mills rd. - now a Huntington as well, woo!) #OnceaBank...

And the last Halloween throwback is actually an article that highlights trick or treating hours for many area suburbs. Halloween 1970 was a Saturday evening, but some party pooper communities (Painesville, Madison Township, Madison Village, Perry Township and North Perry Village) held tricks or treats on Friday, October 30th 1970.

Legit cities (Mentor, Eastlake, Willoughby Hills, Kirtland, Willowick, Wickliffe, Perry Village, Concord Township, Leroy Township, Painesville Township, and Richmond Heights) saw to honor tradition and keep trick or treating ON Halloween.

But the REAL MVP's in October 1970 were... Fairport Harbor and our very own EUCLID, in that they allowed goblins and ghouls to beg for something good to eat both Friday and Saturday nights.
