25000 Euclid Avenue - Braeburn Farm

A century ago, a farm called Braeburn (alternate spelling Brae Burn) was situated at 25000 Euclid Avenue. This property saw many church related events, and Mayor Sims campaign headquaters. In the 1930 and 40s there was a hospital for the "nervous" on the grounds.

The estate was massive and included a large house, pavilion, and numerous places for sports and recreation. The area remained mostly the same until the mid 1950s. A new office building was erected and that included a new location of the St. Clair Savings and Loan Company.

The office building remains today - largely unchanged. The west corner of this property hasn't been a bank in quite a while, but the ghosts of the "Drive-In Window" is very easy to see.

  1. I believe the office building was known as the Brae Burn Medical Office Building. The Charter House Hotel was adjacent.
