Euclid Avenue circa 1973

Today there was an article with lots of photos posted on Cleveland.com called Cleveland in the 1970s: A gritty city survives turbulent times.

In towards the end is a picture of Euclid Avenue looking East. Check out all the signage that used to be!

  2. Omni Park Building on the left was practically brand new in this 1973 photo, maybe not even opened yet. A 2009 Plain Dealer article states "The building, built 36 years ago as the A.M. Pena Building..."
Two years later, in 2011, the PD reported "...a large fire... erupted shortly before 3 a.m. at a seven-story, 60-000-square-foot office building in Euclid. Firefighters were called to the Omni Park Building, 27801 Euclid Ave. near the Wickliffe border."
Save a Lot occupies the old Manners spot with the I-90 signage and overpass visible in the distance.
