June 1925: Tonsil-Outing Time for Euclid: Mass Tonsil and Adenoid Removal Clinic at Shore High School

June 1925: Tonsil-Outing Time for Euclid: Mass Tonsil and Adenoid Removal Clinic at Shore High School

Nobody wants to have their tonsils removed. No kid, either. It was a trope of 80's and 90's prime-time sitcoms that someone had to have their tonsils out, panicked, and escaped, only to be brought back by force or by a familial talking-to.

Euclid, Ohio: July, 1897 Search for a Wild Man

Women in the 1800's were predisposed to bouts of hysteria. Just the women, apparently, because wombs.

Or maybe not.

This article, published in the Logan, Ohio Hocking sentinel in late July 1897 explicitly states that EVERYBODY in Euclid was on edge due to the recent sightings of what then could only be described as a "Wild Man,".

The Year was 1976!

And my, how things have changed! LOL, have a look:

From the December 14, 1976 Plain Dealer. Any hot, young chicks need a job?

I am gonna head out with the camera here soon (it's cold out there, man) and snap some pictures, so consider this a heads up, as I'm totally taking requests.

I plan on taking some pictures of downtown and that area, which is looking quite snazzy tbqh.

As for the mall, nothing has really changed. A couple of new churches, but that's about all.

A bit of nostalgia and a whole lot of foresight.

Published in the March 3, 1977 edition of the Euclid News Journal.

I've had a copy of this for a while and the first time I read it it was almost too ironic to believe.

Maybe they should have used ALL CAPS.
